How can Backup and restore by Jump Lists in Windows


Windows 7 has introduced a unique feature which is known by the name of Jump lists. By which you will be able to use lists attachment to pinned taskbar items to briskly access documents, tasks and more. By this article i am going to show you that how can Backup and restore by Jump Lists in Windows.

How to Backup jump lists in Windows?
The process of backing up is quite simple. For this you have to do it by open the Windows Explorer and operate to the path:

%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\AutomaticDestinations
and
%APPDATA%\Microsoft\Windows\Recent\CustomDestinations


You can Backup your all the files in two folders. (And you should not use that folder which is already present here, it will create confusions)

And firstly, you have to download this bat file and just starts to run it in your PC for automate the whole action. Before the working of this bat file, just create a folder which name would be  “Jump-Lists-Backup”  on your Desktop and then just start copy all the jump list folders and in this latest created folder.


There is no need to delete or modify this folder; it will be use during the restore your jump lists.

How to restore the jump lists?
As when you will be prepare to restore your jump lists, and then just copy your latest created backup files and paste to another where you want to store. For this transfer process you can use Dropbox or SkydriveNow just restart the Windows Explorer.

Simply now you can download this restored bat file and make execution it in your computer, and assume that the Jump-Lists-Backup folder is completely in your desktop. if you are using another computer then be sure that the Jump-Lists-Backup folder are present before execution of this bat file.

During the jump lists restore your screen may oscillate for a second to Explorer is refresh. After finishing, just click on the jump lists and you will be able to see your restore files.


It is very interesting to know that the computer we are using is of Windows 7 or 8 an, you can use the both computer but you have to backup the bat files on one computer and then restore them on another PC by copying the backup folder to the desktop of on the new computer then you can run the restore file. And it is very necessary to use the same program versions on each PC for being this process properly, otherwise you will not able to restore all, may be able for just only partial jump lists.

Conclusion:
By this we get that If we are using jump lists in Windows, then we will be able to backup jump lists and restore them on another PC may be profitable, and if we using two computer for this process then it does not matter which one we are used.
